Coaxial cable is still a popular choice for cable internet and television companies because of its durability and high bandwidth, but it is a far cry from the coaxial network cabling we used to use in offices and other Ethernet environments. IEEE 10Base2 and 10Base5 (Thinnet and Thicknet) have been largely replaced by twisted pair and fiberoptic cable but it benefits us to know a bit about them regardless.
